Writing

As a writer, I have been published in various publications, including Ohio State Alumni Magazine, Cincy Magazine, bustedhalo.com, Sticky Kitchen, The Athenaeum and Newswire (of Xavier University), and The Lantern (of Ohio State University).

I’ve been focusing on poetry for my free-time writing. While I dabble in essays and fiction, I tend to gravitate back to poetry after a short while. I am part of monthly poetry workshop that has been together since 2005.

I like supporting local poetry organizations by submitting work to poetry contests and have placed in a few contests including:

• Frontiers in Writing Contest, Panhandle Professional Writers Association–First Place, Long-Form Poetry
• Poetry Society of Virginia–1st Honorable Mention
• Inktank/Cincinnati CityBeat–In top 10 finalists
